The Energy-food System Nexus: Implications of a Sustainable Diet on the Energy System

Short Introductive summary

This study explores the impact of dietary trends on biogas production. As sustainable dietary shifts are needed for future planetary and human health , the availability of substrates for biogas will need to be reevaluated. Through interviews with biogas sector stakeholders, this study aims to understand their perspectives on how future substrate availability will affect biogas production. This study evaluates a sustainable transition in both energy and food systems simultaneously, identifying barriers and drivers in the sustainable energy-food system nexus. The aim is to add to society’s innovative capital, providing a width and options in how to address future concerns within the sustainable energy food system nexus.
