Energy Transition in South-West Norway: The CARBIOW Project’s Journey from Biowaste to Biofuel Production

Short Introductive summary

In this work, we analysed the organic waste resources and their management at the Svåheia Business Park (SEAS), located in the southwest regions of Norway. Hense, we intend to establish an innovative approach for producing carbon-negative biofuels from organic waste via Horizon Europe project CARBIOW , we have quantified and qualified household organic waste in Svåheia Business Park (SEAS). To determine the quantity of organic waste, we measured the weight of collected waste in kilotons. We gathered data on the annual waste production of Eigersund, Sokndal, and Bjerkreim municipalities from 2015 to 2022 [3]. This approach enabled us to analyze waste composition, assess waste production rates, and gain insights into the quantity of organic waste available for utilization in biofuel production.
