Scenario-analysis on Extension of the Dutch Fuel Transition Obligation 2031-2040
Short Introductive summary
This report presents a scenario-analysis for the continuation of the Fuel Transition Obligation after 2030. This is a Dutch policy instument used to achieve the climate goals in mobility following from RED III and the Climate Agreement, where is provides a market instrument on which suppliers of renewable fuels and renewable electricity can build a business case. The scenarios presented in this study will provide insights into possible interactions between potential energy carriers in different transport modes and their actual climate impact. This sets a basis for policy makers to enable them to make well informed decisions for the continuation of the Fuel Transition Obligation after 2030.
