The SUN-PERFORM Case Study: Influence of Equipment Building Materials on LCA Outcomes

Short Introductive summary

The present work addresses the analysis of different scenarios in the LCA that will be performed in the framework of the EU-funded SUN-PERFORM project. Due to process choices in different scenarios, one of the scenarios may require several reactors operating simultaneously, instead of a single reactor. While the LCA initially excluded the reactor building materials from the assessment, the present study aims to assess the influence of the building materials when the number of reactors differs between scenarios. This work thus conducted a preliminary LCA analysis of the two identified scenarios, excluding all reactor downstream operation to only analyze the reactor operations. The study findings will be instrumental to define the extension of input data required for the full-process SUN-PERFORM LCA.
